Always in search of unique travel experiences we came across the Rocket Wars of the Greek island of Chios. Wow. (Chios is also one of the possible birthplaces of Homer.)
Chios is just off the coast of Turkey and has a 200 year old tradition of shooting rockets in the nights before Easter. At first glance that doesn’t seem too unusual until you see how residents prepare for months and moths to put on this incredible show.
Not sure if we’d risk taking kids here but the visuals are unbelievable!
