Day before…Paris 2018

Just enough time for e a very quick note!

Checklist:

  • passports, Global entries, copies, digital of
  • called the banks, credit cards
  • phones, tablets, chargers
  • Uber, Tripadvisor, other apps downloaded
  • adapters
  • apartment directions printed out
  • snack, snacks, snacks

We’re heading out tomorrow so doing a quick checklist rundown of the “essentials” which looks a lot like a desperate to-do list. The criteria for this list is all things that are either a) extremely inconvenient to replace (e.g., passports, Global Entry cards) or b) will make our travel so much better for everyone (e.g., snacks, phones, chargers, etc.).

The rest is really just some things we (Dan) get a little paranoid about so we have a folder with copies of aforementioned docs (digital ones too, again…Dan), directions to our apartment rental as well an envelope for receipts and other docs one might want to track while abroad.

Last, but not least. Call. Your. Bank.

And your credit cards.

It’s a pain but not more of a pain than getting an error message from an ATM or being declined at a restaurant. It’s nothing new to banks to note your account so they’ll just ask you where you’re going and for how long. We include departure and return dates and even layovers just in case (e.g., a Munich stopover on way to Italy, we include Germany and Italy.).

Talk soon!
