Why does this blog exist?

Good question. There are already hundreds, if not thousands, of travel blogs providing inspiration, tricks of the trade, and super helpful information on destinations around the world. Why add one more?

Short answer: We’ve been really lucky to make overseas travel a part of who we are as a family and have learned a lot along the way. Other travel blogs have been a great resource and inspiration for us so this blog is a way for us to contribute by sharing our experiences and lessons learned and hopefully help other travelers have many a success trip as well.

Long answer: Not a week goes by where we don’t have friends, coworkers, neighbors, or strangers as us about traveling overseas, especially with young children. Our responses have almost come routine about how it’s not as expensive as you think, how kids can benefit from travel from very young ages, and how after you take your first trip the only risk is that you’ll want to back again and again. This blog let’s us give back in a more comprehensive and organized fashion. We can share our past experiences as well as provide real time updates as we plan our next big trip.

Just this spring we spent 12 beautiful days in Spain. The year before was a return trip to Italy. The difference with this last one to Spain was that before we even got home we knew this was all too good to keep to ourselves. We were determined to find a way of sharing our experiences and what we’ve learned so other families could enjoy traveling together too.

Over the last decade we’ve been able to consistently travel overseas every two years. We are working on making it an annual adventure.

We are not a family that changed their lives forever by packing everything up and traveling full-time. We are not a family whose vacation costs could rival the price of a small sedan. We are just a husband and wife that made up our minds to prioritize overseas travel in the raising of our two kids and are so grateful we’d like to share our experiences and what we’ve learned with others.

We hope you inspire you and we hope to provide you with the practical tips and tools to help make your travel, family or otherwise, more enjoyable, cost-effective and, dare we say, repeatable.
